Highland High School is a public high school located in Highland, Indiana. It is part of the School Town of Highland. The school was found in 1960, and also has Highland Middle School attached to it. Within Highland Middle School is also the Northwest Indiana Education Service Center.

In December 2011 a social studies teacher within the school system by the name of Samuel Fies, was charged with sexual misconduct with three female students. Two of the alleged victims were reportedly enrolled in special education classes, and the other was seventeen years of age. The investigation alleges molestation and sexual contact. The misconduct is alleged to have began with one student as young as fourteen years old. Fies faces six to twenty years in prison for one of the charges. Fies is currently awaiting trial.[1]
